Sustainability as a Tool for Cooperation

Tuesday 2nd March I had the great pleasure to moderate an online event hosted by ISDP on Maritime Security Challenges in 2021, where five experts shared different perspectives from the South China Sea, the Arctic and the Baltic situations. All agreed the last decades has seen an uprise in competition related to resources, sovereignty issues and geopolitics, not likely to be reduced anytime soon. I tried to introduce sustainability and common resource management as potential areas to foster cooperation that was well received by most of the speakers.
